Update 2/28/2024: As an ongoing effort with the City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities a temporary pressure drop within the South Cheyenne Water & Sewer District of about 50 psi will be experienced on March 13, 2024 from 10am to 4pm.
As a result of the City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (BOPU) reconfiguring a portion of their water system that feeds the South Cheyenne Water & Sewer District (District), District water pressures will be reduced in a large part of the system. The BOPU will be reducing the system pressure by approximately 50 pounds per square inch (psi) in their Sun Valley pressure zone that feeds a large portion of the District. However, the reduced water pressure will be in a range considered to be good water pressure per industry standards.
The area north of W. Jefferson and west of South Greeley Highway will maintain existing pressures with the construction of a new pressure reducing valve (PRV) station. The remainder of the system will experience reduced pressures. The District was awarded 100% funding by the Laramie County Commissioners ARPA for the construction of the new PRV station.
